On Friday I went to a Japanese weaving class that I discovered as I took a detour on my way to work a few weeks ago! It was so much fun I can’t quite get over it, the session was 5 hours and the lovely tutor taught us all the basics of the loom in around 30 minutes so we had the rest of the time to wallow in marvellously colourful warns.

This session fuelled my growing love for textiles and print in almost an unhealthy way, as I now want to spent all my savings on a loom and every colour, thickness and texture of yarn.

I didn’t plan how my tapestry was going to look and I never really stopped long enough to really think about what I was doing. I chose the colours that I love and the textures that interested me, I added glittered thread and pom poms and didn’t unravel what I’d created until I’d decided I was finished.
